Contact your legislator and ask them to vote against S5400 / A5460.

If passed, your New Jersey SRECs will be cut 55% to 75% starting in June. Your payments will be 90 days delayed under Senate bill S5400.

The NJ Board of Public Utilities (BPU) is pushing these bills. They feel that "you have been made whole" on your solar investment and that your SREC revenue should be cut and eliminated prior to your 15 and 10 year term in place when you invested in your solar.

Remember, your legislator is probably not even aware of these bills and the damage that would occur if they were passed. Your goal is to make them aware of how this would affect you personally and how it goes contrary to the policy that was in place by the state of New Jersey when you decided to invest and install solar on your home or business.

These bills will not even save ratepayers money for three years. Power is contracted for the majority of electricity users for 3 years in advance.

Here is a link to your New Jersey legislators. Filter by town. You have one senator and two assembly people. You can email or call their office.
